Creating Assignment Devices/Users

Encoding Assignment

Encoding Assignment doesn't require an additional user as the function takes place from the Console. Therefore, the permissions of the signed in user are used.

For Encoding Assignment to take place, Edit All & Move permissions are required at the Batch Level.

Scan Assignment

Scan Assignment devices require a User to function - either an Assignment User or Assignment Device.

Creating an Assignment Device

If you are using a Digital Logic uFR reader, then you first need to create an 'Assignment Device' User.

Navigate to Users under the Account Management main menu. Click 'Add User'. Then select 'Assignment Device' as the user type. There's only one setting required which is the User's Name. This is used to identify the 'device' within the console.

Once the Assignment Device User has been created, you will be able to access the Assignment Device User URL. You will need this URL when setting up the uFR Wifi readers.

Creating an Assignment User

If you are using a mobile phone for Scan Assignment, then you need to create an Assignment User.

Navigate to Users under the Account Management main menu. Click 'Add User'. Add a User's Name for use within the Console to identify the user. Then create a login name and password and click 'Add New User'.

Mobile users can login using this account via https://m.ixkio.com. The only permissions that Assignment Users have is for Scan Assignment and Users will be presented with a simple screen for this purpose only. Assignment Users cannot log in to the Console or Locus.
